Odyssey Boss Stem
Using our popular SXTN stem as a springboard, Aaron Ross’ signature Odyssey BOSS stem is a classic top load design. This is a 1 1/8″ Threadless Stem. Tighten your stem bolts up by alternating the bolts so its evenly tightened and flush. This will reduce slipping and cracking. Add some grease or oil to the bolts so they reach maximum torque easily. Make sure your using a metric allen head wrench and get that tool head down in the bolt to prevent tripping out the bolt head. Almost all bikes us metric tools except Profile Racing, S&M and some other other American Made bike parts.
The Classic Front Load stem features a traditional design with 6 bolt clamping configuration.
- 53mm reach with 7.5mm rise
- CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum
Mechanic Notes: The top headset bolt is what adjust the tension on the bearings. You tighten the headset up with this bolt until the play is gone and its perfectly smooth. Then you tighten the 2 side stem bolts. Use the headset spacers to raise the stem up off the very top of the steerer tube by about a 1/8″ (just enough so the bolt can do its job without binding on the top of the fork). Being able to fix your bike will give you the confidence in your life to fix just about anything.
